The House announces an open call for subsidized studios
The House is launching an open call for several places in subsidized studios within a cultural center in Prague 6. The offer is intended for emerging artists whose practice focuses on drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation, or new media. We prefer motivated applicants with a current need for a dedicated workspace who will make intensive use of the studio for their creative work.
The House provides:
- 3x individual smaller studios suitable for drawing, painting, printmaking, or new media, with shared facilities.
- 2x spots in a shared large studio suitable for sculpture or spatial installations, with shared facilities.
- Studio use until May 30, 2026.
- The opportunity to exhibit during or at the end of the residency in one of The House’s gallery spaces in collaboration with the gallery’s curatorial team.
- Possibility of individual creative involvement in The House’s activities in collaboration with the gallery’s production team.
Application Requirements:
- CV (including date of birth, education, exhibition participation).
- Contact information (full name, address, email).
- Portfolio with up to 10 selected completed works/projects.
- Motivation letter (1 standard page), which may include an artist statement but should primarily explain how the applicant would specifically utilize the studio space within their artistic practice.

- Deadline: April 20, 2025. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
- Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of members of The House’s production team.
Selection Process:
The results of the open call will be announced on The House’s website by April 30, 2025. Selected artists will also be contacted via email.
The House reserves the right not to select any applicants, to cancel, or to close the selection process early. The selection committee reserves the right to choose artists without providing justification. The committee’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
